Summer Nails Look

July is in full swing, and the summer parties are still going strong. Having fun nails is the perfect way to complete a look. Here is an easy look that will make a splash at the next backyard barbeque:

The first step is to file your nails, of course!

Who says that soaking your nails can only be done at the salon or with expensive gadgets and scrubs. I am soaking mine in a DIY nail whitener. It is inexpensive and only has three common ingredients. Take a small bowl and fill it about half-way up with warm water. Add 2 Tablespoon of Hydrogen Peroxide and 2 Teaspoons of baking soda. Mix them well and soak each hand for several minutes.

Once the nails are done soaking, rinse them off and apply any lotion or hand cream.

For this look, I am using Sinful Colors: Professionals Soul Mate and L.A. Colors: Color Craze Meadow.

Paint all of the nails except the ring fingers with Soul Mate.

Once dried, paint the remaining two nails with Meadow. (Note: L.A. Colors: Color Craze Sea Foam and Beach Babe are very similar to this one.)

The contrasting colors will make them stand out more while their pastel nature prevents them from clashing. (Hint: If the nail polish is hard to remove, pour the remover into a small sauce dish and soak the nails for a few minutes before wiping them.)
